Badger Region Membership Needed for Registration

We are a USAV club which requires a membership to Badger Region Volleyball. If you don't have a Badger Region Membership you will need to purchase the "league" membership. Enter the start date for league play "4/7/25.” This membership is good for 4 months from the start of play and costs $17.50. Please see the link below.

 Our goal is to group players of a similar caliber.  If your player is registered  for a group which is not instructionally appropriate we will move them to the correct group so they are able to fully participate and enjoy their volleyball experience. If the session you are interested in is full, please ask to be added to the waitlist. Please do not register for a different session expecting to be moved into the session which is labeled "full". 3rd-5th Grade Training

Rules and Joy of the Game

This player development session will be geared towards young beginners 3rd-5th grade. This foundational program will introduce the sport of volleyball to young players and foster a love of the game. We will go through basic volleyball court movements and skill development. Our coaching staff emphasizes camaraderie, growth mindset, and fun at each session. Players can expect direct feedback from coaches each practice to improve on their play. 

Prerequisites:

  • None

Level 1: Middle School Grades 6 through 9

Rotations, Serving, Passing Focus

This player development session is offered to girls and boys who will be enrolled in grades six through ninth. This is an introduction to volleyball for players who have less than one year of experience. We will focus on the fundamentals of volleyball. Players will learn the rules of the game, rotations on the court, and have the opportunity each practice for game-like play. This may be for players who need to work on their under and overhand serve and passing accuracy. Players can expect direct feedback and training advice in order for them to continue their skill growth in and outside of sessions. Coaches will emphasize teamwork and foster a love for the game. 

Prerequisites:

  • Interest in competitive play

  • Desire to improve fundamental skills

Level 2: Middle School Grades 6 through 9

Offensive and Defensive Focus, Team Play

This training session is for players who are ready to participate in competitive school level volleyball. These players have a desire to participate and work hard,  are mature enough to accept and process constructive feedback and work with others.  This  program will work on skill development and offensive and defensive play. Players will learn a 4-2 rotation with an introduction to 5-1 rotations.  Players will engage in games and scrimmages each session with the goal of three touches on each ball. Two coaches will work with players creating a challenging and positive volleyball experience. 

Prerequisites

  • Can pass a free ball to target 

  • Can pass back and forth with a partner consistently with control

  • Communicate with other players on the court

  • Have an overhand serve (may be inconsistent, but has the power)

  • Take constructive feedback

  • Have a willingness to go for the ball and desire to play competitively

*If your player does not meet these requisites, please sign them up for 5th-8th grade Level 1

Level 3: Middle School Grades 6 through 9

 Most competitive option

This is for competitive middle school players with experience playing competitive volleyball. This  program will work on skill development, including rotational offensive and defensive play, positional training, and competitive play. Athletes will not only develop court skills but court IQ as well. Players will learn a 4-2 rotation with and 5-1 rotations.  Players will engage in games and scrimmages each session. Two coaches will work with players creating a challenging and positive volleyball experience. 

Prerequisites 

  • Have prior team/club experience

  • Understand the fundamentals of volleyball and 4-2 rotation.

  • Be able to consistently serve overhand

  • Be able to pass to target on free balls

  • Be able to move to a served ball or on defense

  • Have a desire for competitive play

*If your player does not meet these requisites, please sign them up for 6th-8th grade Level 1, 2, or Pre-Club.

Adult Introduction to Volleyball

Foundational Skills Focus

We are excited to offer beginner adult volleyball lessons at Ignite! This session is geared towards those adults who have enjoyed watching volleyball but would like to become more involved in the sport as a player.  This foundational program will introduce all disciplines of volleyball including:

  • Passing
  • Hitting
  • Blocking
  • Setting 
  • Serving

We will cover court movement and offensive and defensive strategies. Players will learn different volleyball rotations and the rationale behind choosing these different rotations for competition. There will be opportunities to apply these skills in game-like competitive scenarios in a low stress environment.

Time Commitment and Training Locations

The PDP program will be held one day per week and each session will be seven weeks long. The 3rd-4th  grade session and 4th-5th grade session 1 will be an hour long. Our other sessions will be an 1 hour and 15 minutes long. We will host fall, winter, spring and summer training programs.
